On August 3, 2021, Hannah was involved in a minor car accident that changed her life forever. While driving, her airbag deployed, causing her designer sunglasses to shatter, resulting in catastrophic injuries to her right eye. The glass shards not only severed her optic nerve but also caused her sinus cavity to collapse, leading to chronic migraines and significant vision loss.
Despite the trauma, Hannah transformed her experience into a mission: to educate others about the hidden dangers of conventional sunglasses, which make up over 75% of eyewear on the market. She founded Blue Eye to create shatter-resistant sunglasses that prioritize safety without compromising style.
Hannah’s journey has been one of resilience and acceptance. After undergoing multiple surgeries and therapy, she found strength in her new identity and aims to ensure no one else has to endure the same fate.
